Neuropsychological evaluation
The neuropsychological evaluation helps psychiatrists, neurologists, speech therapists, linguists, psychologists and teachers to assess intellectual impairment. It also helps to verify the capability of an individual, i.e., it can be used to determine if a student really excells in abilities, so typical in geniuses.
To assess intellectual skills, we use specific neuropsychological tests according to the problem at hand. The results allow us to understand how individuals use their skills in everyday situations and so a differential diagnosis can be done. For example, it allows us to conclude whether the memory loss of an elderly is due to an early dementia or if the problem of a school child is due to a demotion of intellect. Or if both, the elderly and the child, are actually suffering from behavioral or emotional disorders. The neuropsychological tests make clear what causes the symptoms so as to distinguish between an organic disorder, purely physical, and mood and behavioral disorders such as anxiety and depression.
These exams are of great value in the diagnosis of dementia associated with atherosclerosis, a cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, among other diseases. In Psychiatry it can contribute in chemical addictions, eating disorders and obsessive and compulsive disorders.
Currently, there are neuropsychological assesment tools known worldwide with predictable results and a low rate of false positives and false negatives. The tests are controlled by the client and should be supervised by people with experience. The results come in reports such as a CT or MRI. The findings should be interpreted by specialists trained in Behavioral Neurology, Psychiatry or Psychology. The absolute majority of the tests are English and American, all recognized by the scientific community.

How psychotherapy works
The individual psychotherapy lasts from 50 minutes to 1 hour as often as 1 to 3 times a week, given the need. The length of the treatment is limited. Aiming at a high therapy, it varies  according to the diagnosis and development of the treatment.
The Psychotherapy Group lasts from 1 and a half to 2 hours depending on the number of participants and the aim is to exchange experiences people with similar issues have under the mediation of a psychologist. The group provides greater identification among the members and strengthens the social skills within the group as individuals contribute and learn together.
The choice on the kind of psychotherapy depends on the problems and emotional characteristics the client has.

To whom the psychotherapy is
Anyone can go through assesment and treatment just because of the presence of emotional pain. In the case of children and adolescents, parents and teachers can identify changes in their attitude and behavior. The search for help  is difficult just because of the very nature of the symptoms, so people who are close should seek information on how to address and motivate the treatment.
